Architect Bashir Hussaini Adamu brings a wealth of experience to bear at IPPAM from both the private and public sectors. A Masters Degree holder from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and an alumnus of Oxford, Harvard and Bayero Universities and Lagos Business School.
Bashir began his work career with Niger Consultants in Lagos in 1987 as Project Architect. In 1988, he moved to Lama Construction Company Ltd, Kano as Project Manager. After 2 years, he joined Environmental Dev. Consultants (EDC) Kano as Associate Architect.
In 1992, he co-founded DesignPlus Consultants where he has served as Managing Partner to date. On the political scene, he was appointed Director-General, Project Implementation & Monitoring Unit (PIMU – Jigawa), Jigawa State in 1999.
In 2002, he received additional responsibility on his appointment as Deputy Chairman, Bureau for State & Local Govt. Reform, Jigawa State, a position he held till 2007. On completing his tenure with the PIMU – Jigawa in 2003, he was appointed Chairman /Chief Executive Officer of the same unit for a further 4 years and also made Commissioner, Jigawa State Ministry of Budget & Planning, positions he held till 2007 when he returned to the private sector.
In recognition of his contributions to his community, he was turbaned “Dan Amar Kazaure” in 2008. A well travelled member of the Nigeria Institute of Architects (NIA), Bashir enjoys reading, photography, horseback riding, cycling and information technology issues.
He is married with children.
